Display Not Showing Scheduled Content - Double Scheduling Issue
The display is connected and working, but scheduled content does not show as expected
Symptoms
- Display loads correctly
- Screen name appears
- No error messages
- Content does not play at the expected time
- Some content may appear, but not the scheduled items
Root Cause
Scheduling is configured in two places at the same time:
- Playlist level (images/videos scheduled inside playlist)
- Screen level (screen also has schedule applied)
This creates a conflict, and the system may not display content correctly.
How to Confirm
Step 1 – Check Playlist Scheduling
- Log into JTECH CMS (JTECH Studio)
- Open the playlist assigned to the screen
- Check if Images/videos have time or day schedules
Step 2 – Check Screen Scheduling
- Open the screen configuration
- Check if the screen also has:
- Day restrictions
- Time restrictions
If both are scheduled → this is the issue
Resolution
Best Practice: Schedule ONLY inside the playlist
Do the following:
- Keep scheduling ONLY at the playlist level
- Remove any scheduling from the screen
- Make sure the screen is set to run continuously (no schedule)
Why This Works
- Playlist controls what to show and when
- Screen should only control where to show
- Avoids conflicts between two scheduling layers
Important Notes
- Do NOT schedule both playlist and screen
- This is a common cause of “content not showing”
- This is not a device or connectivity issue
When to Escalate
- Playlist is correctly scheduled
- Screen has no schedule
- Content still does not display
